Job Description

Pastoral Support Officer

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Support Officer to join our team in Leeds. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing exceptional pastoral care and support to students, particularly those with special educationalneeds (SEN), ensuring a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Offer emotional and social support to students with SEN, helping them to overcome challenges and succeed academically and personally.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to identify individual student needs and tailor support accordingly.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized pastoral care plans to ensure student well-being.
  • Promote a positive school culture by building strong relationships with students and staff, fostering effective communication and mutual respect.
  • Manage behavioural issues constructively, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a pastoral support role within an SEN setting.
  • A deep understanding of the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and external parties.
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and patient nature, with a commitment to supporting the personal and academic growth of students.
