Are you looking for the right role for you Then look no further…Operations ChemistSalary - £30,000 per annum (plus benefits)Hours - 45 hours per week, shift rota of 7.00am to 4.00pm & 9.00am to 6.00pm (alternating each week)Location Postcode - LS9 0PJAs an Operations Chemist, you will conduct the chemical and physical testing of wastes received for treatment or transfer and the associated residues. You will also process control samples from these activities, maintaining appropriate waste consignment andlaboratory records.This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.Our promise to you- Competitive salary- 25 days’ annual leave (full-time working) plus Bank Holidays- Pension scheme- Life insurance- Discretionary bonus scheme- On the job training and progression- Recognition scheme- Refer a friend- Flexible benefits including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership, holiday purchase and many more.- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform.What will you be doing- To work within the Waste Treatment Division (WTD) to inspect and test wastes, confirming suitability for acceptance and identifying appropriate safe handling and processing methods- To undertake laboratory-based waste trials using instrumental and wet chemistry methods- To undertake waste analyses using a range of methods- To identify appropriate safety and process considerations - Site safety checks- To maintain and undertake appropriate quality control methods to ensure accuracy of waste assessments- To maintain accurate records- To train and mentor new starters as and when requiredWhat are we looking for- Experience of waste, wastewater water and water analyses using spectrophotometric methods- Knowledge of MS Office- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in chemistryA degree in chemistry or a related subject would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of hazardous waste classification and consignment note systems.About UsWe are FCC Environment, one of the nation’s leading waste and resource management companies.
