Job Description

Position: Law Costs DraftsmanLocation: Leeds - Option to work remotely or at one of their other City Based OfficesPackage: In addition to a highly competitive salary and benefits package, you have the choice to pick from a range of benefits, allowing you to build a package that suits your needs and lifestyle.Our client is an International Law firm, with offices throughout the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a couple of experienced Cost Advisors to join their expanding team.with national coverage throughout the UK, they are looking for new members to join the team and provide expert direction in relation to all cost matters. This will range from the recovery of costs, through to negotiations, points of dispute, provisionalassessments, detailed assessment hearings, Joint Settlement Meetings and Mediations.The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a caseload of primarily litigated insurance costs work which will be a mixture of RTA,EL/PL and Disease cases, to include preparation points of dispute, replies, preparation of bills of costs, costbudgets and negotiations. Advocacy experience and membership of the ACL is not necessary, although would be considered an advantage.Some of your duties will include:

  • To provide excellent client service to internal and external clients and to deal with client queries, under the line management of a location lead. Job Description
  • Action all cases in line with practice group/client service standards, SLAs and protocols ensuring the monitoring and completion of MI as required;
  • Use of the case management system and / or use of standard documentation wherever appropriate to maximise cost efficiency;
  • Utilise negotiation and communication skills to proactively settle/assist in the settlement of cases to the satisfaction of the client whilst further developing legal technical knowledge;
  • Analyse risk and utilise commercial knowledge to develop sound judgement in order to justify decisions in the management of cases;
  • Prioritise and organise work efficiently and effectively to ensure client service level agreements and deadlines are met;
  • Understand the role in the context of the practice group and proactively seek to increase contribution via the allocation of work;
  • Record all time accurately.
  • Interpret financial information to monitor your own performance against agreed targets ensuring theres an ability to explain any differential;
  • Partake in any other duties that are deemed necessary to support the business as and when required.
  • To follow all the Firms policies and procedures.
  • To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
