Job Description

Junior Buyer Up to £30,000 Leeds, West YorkshireThis is a rare and exciting opportunity working for anInternationally recognised product broker which leading brand businesses rely on and we are searching for a self-motivated and driven individual who wants to begin their career in Procurement to join theirteam. As a Junior Buyer here, your primary responsibility will be to source stock from manufacturers of national and international household brands however, no previous experience is required as you will receive full training and support working directly alongsidethe Managing Director and Co-founder who will pass on and share decades of industry knowledge and experience. This role is all about driving your earning potential by forging long term, commercial relationships and ensuring competitive pricing to drive business revenue. To thrive in this competitive market youll require a genuine knack for connecting with people andthe confidence to engage with Director level contacts and established brands. Seizing this opportunity and making the role your own is key to success! Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly reporting into the Owners of the business youll be an integral part of the business to grow its product offering to customers and overall turnover
  • Full responsibility of key accounts with suppliers from Global supply chains
  • Comfortably communicate with Senior Directors to Middle management to secure product
  • Analysis Product prices to mitigate cost and maximise trading margin with the owners budgeted profit pricing
  • Researching and identifying new product opportunities across new supply routes, growth areas and partnerships which can include International Brand products yet to be seen in existing markets
  • Establish a value added service to your suppliers and be seen as the go too
  • Networking and Trade Fair Attendance
  • Attend Domestic and International exhibitions and trade fairs
  • Seek to drive your relationships with manufacturers and other suppliers of brand products
  • Be a commercial lead for the business
Candidate Requirements:
  • Be a fantastic communicator with strong interpersonal skills and have the confidence to speak to people at different seniority levels
  • You should understand sales behaviour and be able to consult with suppliers to gain their product at the right price
  • Develop an understanding of how suppliers work in order to determine who the decision-makers are
  • Make contact and form productive and profitable relationships
  • Delivering a service, from the initial conversation, negotiating to inbound of inventory
  • Have strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure competitive prices and favourable terms
  • Be a driven, tenuous individual with a will to succeed
