Infrastructure EngineerInfrastructure Engineer / Azure Engineer. A large claims management firm needs an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team. This position can be entirely home based. The ideal Infrastructure Engineer will have a wide range of skills across multiple IT disciplines,you will have sound technical knowledge, be highly motivated and who enjoys involvement in all aspects of IT.The Infrastructure Engineer / Azure Engineer will be involved in:

• Take a pivotal role in moving the company Infrastructure fully to the Cloud
• Take a predominant role in helping the company achieve recognised security accreditation
• Help address all identified and reported cyber security risks within the IT estate, recommending best practise to automate vulnerability remediation where possible and feed into new process and structural initiatives to elevate the overall security posture
• Maintain the infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems
• Respond to alerts in a timely manner
• Follow incident procedures
• Feed into business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Identify, review, implement and document new systems and technology
• Deliver strategic business IT projects
• Ensuring the company on premise infrastructure estate and cloud environment are running and available 24/7
• Identify and communicate any risks associated with IT change to senior management
• Train and upskill other members of the IT Operations team as part of any project upgrades or rollouts
• Offer support and assistance as an escalation point for front line IT services
• Supporting and maintaining environments utilised by the in-house software development team

The Infrastructure Engineer / Azure Engineer will need a lot of the following:

• In depth experience of Microsoft Azure in a hybrid environment and moving to a full cloud platform
• Azure AD and Microsoft on premise AD
• Knowledge of awareness of the following Azure fundamentals:

o Azure Active Directory SSOo Azure Storage accountso Azure VPNo Azure Remote Desktop Services (RDS)o Azure Virtual Machines

• Software Defined Networking (SDN)
• Expert in Windows Server administration (Server 2012 onwards)
• Exchange Online
• SharePoint Online
• Remote Desktop Services and Azure Virtual Desktops
• Experienced with fully converged Hyper-V cluster Windows Server core 2019+ and Azure PowerShell
• Familiarity with networking principals (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, VLAN etc)
• Awareness of working towards recognised security accreditations and adopting and implementing IT security best practise
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with staff at all levels of the business
• Managing a global estate of PC remote workstations using remote deployment and monitoring tools
• Ability to work on your own initiative but fully recognise the importance of being a part of a wider cohesive team unit
