Job Description

Import Coordinator - Merchandiser LeedsCompetitive Salary Our client near Leeds is looking to recruit an experienced Import Coordinator.The role will be working closely with suppliers, managing the critical path from start to finish on sea freight, container loads and shipping and liaising with internal departments.The Role:

  • Responsible for ensuring smooth running of the critical path for the brand from order placement through to delivery
  • Working to internal critical path deadlines and liaising daily with factories overseas
  • Liaise with the other in-house teams to meet customers’ specific requirements
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders, including holding regular face to face meetings
  • Liaise with factories and internal business customers on a daily basis or as required
  • Negotiate the pricing of freight forward rates
  • Ensure the timely arrival of product orders
  • Raising purchase orders, checking delivery notes and follow up product samples
  • Closely monitor and manage deliveries ensuring shipments are on time and flagging any potential delays
  • Solid understanding of sea freight, process costs and timelines
  • Manage costings with freight forwarders
  • An understanding of importing goods, shipping containers and foreign currencies including duties and taxes
  • Monitor and report any issues which may affect the timely delivery of product orders
    • Skills Required:
  • MUST have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Experience building strong relationships with suppliers
  • Must have experience of managing the critical path, price negotiations and range building
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a busy work load with targeted deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Read reports and interpret data
  • Knowledge and experience of shipping documentation, ATR’s, BL’s
  • Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills
