Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Import Coordinator to work for our client based in Leeds.This is an exciting opportunity to join and support a busy Department working closely with suppliers, managing the critical path from start to finish on sea freight, container loads and shipping and liaising with internal departments. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of sea freight, process costs and timelines and at least 3 years relevant experience to be considered for the role. Your responsibilities as the Import Coordinator will include:* Complete ownership for all aspects from order placement through to delivery of the goods * Liaising daily with overseas factories and internal business customers to ensure deadlines are met * Working closely with the in-house teams to meet client and customer specific requirements* Building strong relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders and negotiating the pricing of rates * Ensuring the timely arrival of product orders by being aware of progress at every step * Raising purchase orders, checking delivery notes and following up on product samples* Closely monitoring and managing deliveries ensuring shipments are on time and flagging any potential delays* Management of costings with freight forwarders* Competent understanding of importing goods, shipping containers and foreign currencies including duties and taxes* Monitoring and reporting any issues which may affect the timely delivery of product ordersAs the Import Coordinator youll have:* Experience building strong relationship with suppliers and stakeholders* Previous experience within an import, customs, logistics or freight forwarding role essential * Experience building strong relationships with suppliers* Knowledge and experience of shipping documentation, ATRs, BLs* Experience of price negotiations and range building* An effective and confident communicator * High level of accuracy and attention to detail* Excellent IT skills including Microsoft package* An exceptional eye for detail * Ability to use initiative and work well autonomously and in a team-based environmentElevation Business Support is a specialist division of Elevation Recruitment Group focusing on support vacancies in Yorkshire and surrounding regions.
