Job Description

Key to any move is finding a business going on a journey be that appetite for growth, new systems, recent acquisitions, restructuring of the finance or Private Equity/external investment. A minor part of a good role to balance this and you have the perfectreason to give this role serious consideration even if you are looking or not! Our client has entrusted Gifford and Partners to appoint a host of key appointments, this role being Group Accountant. Rare to a group accounting position, you will not only gainexposure to reporting and month, but also financial planning and analysis FP&A, and various group projects. Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to:

  • Managing a small team of reports.
  • Ownership of Month end close reporting
  • Management Accounting and monthly reporting including variance analysis.
  • Support statutory and year end process as well as helping to manage the relation with the auditors
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial Planning and Analysis, FP&A
  • Management of various group project work whilst supporting the transition to to new accounting systems
Essentially, this role is targeting a qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA likely from the Big4 or Top Ten. An understanding of large multinational organisations as well as currency variance and treasure would be a distinct advantage although not a prerequisite. A naturalability to work to tight reporting deadlines and demonstrate exemplary communication both verbally and in the form of report are a given at this level. A desire to work hard and have fun with arguably one of the best finance teams in Yorkshire.
