Job Description

We are excited to be working on this 2 months temporary role for a Conference Operations / Events Manager working on the forthcoming Conservative Party Conference. We are looking for an exceptional individual with the skills and experience to own the operationalorganisation of the Autumn conference. Starting asap. Full time Leeds based.Job profileYou will be supporting the ambitious plans for the Conference event in Autumn. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Director of Conference and Operations and work closely with Conference and Operations colleagues, as well as other colleaguesfrom across CCHQ, to deliver this event.Responsibilities Include:

  • Own the operational organisation of Autumn Conference.
  • Take control of planning, budgeting and on the day management.
  • Manage contracts and liaison with the following Conference 3rd parties: venues, hotels, technology platform providers, security providers and the Police.
  • Incorporate requirements of Conference team colleagues managing fringe, exhibition, and sponsorship sales to ensure they have the required event space and promotional/broadcast capability to deliver to target.
  • Coordinate with CCHQ Digital to deliver online presence for the event.
  • Coordinate with CCHQ Membership to jointly deliver accreditation processes.
  • Manage assessment of health and safety (via 3rd party) and related risk issues.
  • Support external stakeholders in the planning and execution of the security operation around the event.
  • Develop an integrated marketing communications plan.
  • Agree appropriate communications channels across CCHQ and the Voluntary Party.
  • Maintain master budget and monitor expenditure, seeking cost savings where possible and raising purchase orders. Liaise with Finance to ensure on-time billing and money collection for responsible 3rd parties.
Experience, skills set and/or qualifications required:
  • Detailed oriented and deadline driven.
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with other internal and external teams.
  • Outstanding Project Manager skills and experience including large B2B and B2C conference events.
  • The ability to manage workloads and prioritise requests to meet deadlines.
  • Robust attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.
  • A good team player.
  • Outgoing and a "cando" attitude with persuasive interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and proactive
