DevOps Consultant

Job Description

I’m looking for multiple DevOps Consultants to work on multiple exciting projects including creation of new digital banking platforms, new open banking services, robotic process automation solutions and new social networks.You will be responsible for automating/optimizing DevOps processes, considering yourself to be an expert in CI/CD. You should know all about the challenges and requirements required to automate CI phases and Test Orchestration phases in order to be able to deliver a Continuous Delivery practice. On top of this, you will also know the basics around completing releases in a continuous manner without having service outages.The day to day;- Demonstrate practical experience of engineering best practices, while being obsessed with continuous improvement- Personally make valuable contributions to products, solutions and teams and articulate the value to customers- Play a role in the delivery of business critical and customer facing applications- Communicate complex ideas to non-experts with eloquence and confidence- Have an awareness and understanding of new technologies being used in finance and other industries- Develop strong relationships with key clients as a doer and trusted advisor- Influence client decisions and behaviour regularly, resulting in significant positive outcomes for projects- Plan purposeful approach to personal development- Demonstrate good collaborative behaviours; cooperate and share knowledge appropriately on projects with colleagues and clients- Deliver on client commitments with quality and timeliness, bringing your particular expertise to the project- Be passionate about being part of the engineering team that is forming the future of finance- Travel to customer locations and deliver professional services when neededApplicant requirements;- 2+ years of experience in a DevOps/Cloud environment- Expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle with both a Dev and Ops mind-set- 2+ years of hands-on development experience in at least one object-orientated language e.g. Java, Python, C#, Node.js or Golang- Hands-on Docker, Jenkins or Kubernetes experience- 2+ years of experience in Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence), GIT, Sonar, Nexus, Fortify.- 1+ year of experience in using AWS, GCP and/or Azure with a strong understanding of AWS networking and security features and services- Great appreciation of DevOps and Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) concept and techniques, including Terraform and CloudFormation- Understanding of application and system monitoring tools with experience of auto-healing, autoscaling and predictive monitoring- Experienced in Automation and Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet and Helm- Test Driven Development (TDD) or Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) understanding and how to enable and orchestrate the different types of tests required by the quality phase- Experience/understanding of Istio and knowledge of related tools (Kiali, Fortio etc.)- Hands-on Test Orchestration experience with Cucumber, Karate or SeleniumThis is a great opportunity for an experienced software development focused DevOps consultants to join a very successful business based in central Leeds, working with some of the most prestigious organisations in the UK.The salary is £60,000 plus an excellent benefits package.Please contact Jonathan Maironis at Opus Recruitment Solutions on for more information OR send your latest CV to jonathan dot maironis at opusrs dot com
