Job Description

A 3 months+ opportunity for a Communications Marketing Officer has arisen with the local authorities in Leeds.We are looking to recruit a temporary Communications and Marketing Officer in the External Affairs team, particularly to support work on climate change and the growing demand for media relations for the organisation.Tackling the climate emergency is a key Combined Authority priority and a Mayoral pledge. In late October 2021, the Combined Authority is due to launch a long-awaited and far-reaching draft climate and environment action plan to inform a conversation withthe people of West Yorkshire.This will require substantial communications resource. COP26 is happening in November, which again will see significant communications activity around climate change.Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience and relevant qualification in marketing, PR, or communications.
  • Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the marketing and media mix.
  • Experience of negotiating costs and managing and monitoring significant communications project and campaign budgets.
