Job Description

Business Development Manager required for my client, a global leading developer and manufacturer of products for the life science and biotech markets. This will cover Western Europe (primary territories of UK & I, France, Spain, BeNeLux & Nordics) and drivethe company forward by developing and acquiring new business in the territory.You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth in the IVD and Diagnostic markets. You will have a passion for sales, an in-depth understanding of the Europeanmarket and a proven track record of sales success in the life sciences industry.This is a permanent, full-time position to be based remotely in either Europe or the UK.Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the European IVD market, taking a collaborative, partnership style approach to growth with our new and existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, and stakeholders to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Deepen understanding of the European IVD market and conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Work closely with the marketing, product management, R&D, and operations teams to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies, align on product development and commercialisation strategies, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of products andservices.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and other industry events to represent the company, stay current on market trends, meet with key customers and partners, and provide feedback on customer needs and competitor activity.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans, sales strategies, and targeted campaigns to reach financial and strategic goals, achieve KPIs, and expand the OEM manufacturing portfolio.
  • Utilize Salesforce or other CRM software to track customer interactions, forecast customer demand, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, customer acquisition, and customer retention. Incorporate customer feedback and market trendsinto the forecasting process to improve accuracy and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Attend sales meetings, interact with other departments as required, and work with technical teams to develop compelling manufacturing solutions for existing and new clients.
  • Support growth of the whole business by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts for additional transfer opportunities and cross-selling and upselling in every customer meeting.
  • Work with product managers to ensure negotiated contract benefits are fulfilled and collaborate with technical and research support colleagues to overcome technical obstacles.
  • Conduct specific account planning and business development, trip planning, sales planning, spreadsheet analysis, and forecasting.
  • The role will involve international travel with approximately 60% customer-facing time, dependent on company and customer requirements.
