Job Description

Building Condition SurveyorStarting salary from £38,510 per annum with up to 10% BonusLocation Thorpe Park, LeedsPermanent 40 Hours per weekWe have an exciting opportunity for Building Condition Surveyor to join our team where you will report to our Programme Management team.We are looking for an experienced Surveyor where you will manage your own workload, delivering effective and cost-efficient building surveying and contractor management across the NGN estate.The candidate will provide high quality building surveying and building maintenance services, including the management, appraisal, design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of NGN assets across a range of commercial buildings of varyingtypes and size.Your key accountabilities and responsibilities as our Building Condition Surveyor will include• Compiling detailed condition reports on a range of buildings across the whole NGN property portfolio. You will be expected to prioritise, specify, and manage any required remedial works highlighted from these reports• Undertake general building surveys, inspections, defect diagnostics and make recommendations on the amendment of design documents and identify, qualify, and resolve building defect issues• Appraisal of RAMS and ensuring safe working practices during any construction works• Management of a range of sub-contractors, ensuring works are completed to a high standard offering value for money in line with legislative requirements • Undertake environmental surveys across a wide range of buildings, making recommendations for improvements as required•Produce detailed specifications for a variety of building projects in accordance with all legislative requirementsWhat we are looking for in our Building Condition Surveyor• Understanding of building regulations and wider legislation with knowledge of CDM and H&S legislation• Experience of producing professional condition surveys by managing and organising your own workload and priorities• Experience or knowledge of building pathology, surveying processes and methods of construction• Adept at negotiation and conflict resolution with the ability to be assertive, observant, co-operative, flexible, and analytical• The ability to write reports, read construction documents, drawings, and specifications• A strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft packages, such as Word, Excel and Teams is essential• A strong sense of ownership and determination to succeed and complete tasks• An excellent communicator at all levels via all methods with a proven track record of working in a busy and multi-disciplinary environment with excellent customer service skills• Experience in sustainability & environmental issues• A level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ) or educated to an A Level Standard and/or relevant technical qualification or experience• Driving licence with own vehicle essentialWhat we offer you• A competitive starting salary of £38,510 per annum• Up to 10% bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets)• Free onsite parking • 40 hours per week• 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period)• SSP for first 7 calendar days then occupational sick pay• A generous stakeholder 5/10 pension scheme• Flexible benefits and salary sacrifice options, from discounts on a variety of UK attractions, gym membership, restaurant discounts, experience days...and much more!• An array of fantastic family- friendly policies such as 6 weeks’ paternity leave (for eligible employees) and 6 months’ full pay for employees on maternity leave (for eligible employees), as well as shared parental leave and many moreWe are ...
