Job Title: Asbestos Lab Manager. Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire. Salary / Benefits £22k - £30k + Bonus Schemes + BenefitsLevel of Experience: Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Asbestos Lab Manager. Leading multi-discipline Environmental Consultancy are now looking for an Asbestos Lab Manager to join their friendly lab in the West Yorkshire area. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of laboratory analysis, training of new starters,regularly liaising with the quality manager and getting involved with general Laboratory duties such as; ensuring samples are logged and stored correctly prior to preparing for analysis, calibrating equipment, and always carrying out safe working practices.This role would suit an Asbestos Lab Analyst looking to advance into a management position within their career. Consideration will be given to candidates from: Morley, Pudsey, Batley, Dewsbury, Ossett, Wakefield, Normanton, Bradford, Shipley, Horsforth, Brighouse, Halifax, Elland, Bingley, Huddersfield.Experience & Qualifications: " Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role. " P403 (Desired but not essential)" Will ideally have experience managing or supervising a team of Lab Analysts." Experience working in a laboratory environment for a UKAS accredited Asbestos Company." Excellent working knowledge of relevant HSG / COSHH guidelines. " Will be IT literate and confident in using industry relevant systems. " Able to work well under pressure and will have excellent communication skills. The Role:" Carrying out training with new employees. " Overseeing a busy laboratory of analysts. " Ensuring the laboratory is always clean." Checking stock and placing orders when required and organising waste removal. " Regularly reporting to the quality manager." Logging and storing samples from site safely and accurately. " Preparing samples for analysis. " Using PLM / stereo microscopy to carry out analysis of asbestos samples." Ensuring standards comply with UKAS requirements, working in line with HSG 248 guidelines." Working alongside collages to ensure a smooth working process."
