Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a Leeds-based manufacturer to recruit an Applications Engineer.Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, the Applications Engineer will provide outstanding marine, textile, industrial and food grade technical support to the Customer and the Sales Team in order to support the implementation of the business strategyand to help achieve profitable sales growth.Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Applications Engineer who is willing to get stuck in, go the extra mile and put the customers’ needs first.Duties of the Applications Engineer include;

  • Explain complex technical issues in a way which can be understood by the customer, meeting their individual levels of understanding and expectations.
  • Maintain and distribute safety data sheets (SDSs) in line with all current legislation.
  • Build strong relationships with external customers, liaise with our internal laboratory on technical questions and translate customer needs into internal requests. Feedback could be by presentation or report writing.
  • Support the Technical Service (TS) Team in developing solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Perform both as part of a team and autonomously in conducting desk research studies in support of business objectives.
  • Maintain relevant technical databases in a manner that allows this intelligence to be disseminated accurately, in a timely manner and in support of the sales strategy.
  • Ensure TS Office documents are correctly controlled via Q-Pulse.
  • Carry out routine but essential tasks and provide general support to the Technical Service Team in order to ensure service and customer satisfaction levels are maintained.
  • Process incoming samples and review results for the Oil Condition Monitoring System.
  • Represent the company as required at conferences, field trials, inspections and customer meetings.
  • Operate in a manner consistent with company safety, environmental, and regulatory principles and promote these values.
We are keen to speak with Applications Engineers with the following skills & experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent highly desirable – not essential
  • Knowledge of chemistry, physics, and formulation methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills - written/verbal - English) for report writing and presentation skills.
  • Desk research experience.
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills
  • Application knowledge of Lubricants/Processes/Equipment.
  • Intermediate Office 365 skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to think critically to solve problems.
