Job Description

Head of MFL

  • Annual Salary: Outer London + TLR
  • Location: Leatherhead
  • Job Type: Full-time, 1 Year Maternity Cover until Easter 2025
Reed Education are supporting an localindependent school in their search for a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead a successful MFL department. The ideal candidate will have a strong and dynamic visionfor the development of MFL at all key stages and a proven track record of academic success. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the MFL department with inspiration, motivation, and purpose.
  • Teach two languages subjects, with at least one to GCSE level.
  • Embrace the school’s aims and objectives, contributing to school improvement.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and review pupil attainment to ensure progress.
  • Think creatively to solve problems and aid student progression.
  • Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons with support from the central education team.
  • Set and mark homework in line with department and school policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Relevant and successful teaching experience.
  • Ability to plan, resource, and deliver effective learning across all age groups.
  • Inspirational, motivational, and developmental skills for pupil learning.
  • Experience in successful team working.
  • Ability to create exciting learning resources for all abilities.
  • Strong commitment to self-evaluation and data-informed planning.
