Job Description

County Care is a specialist support services provider and we are on the hunt for a Radio Lead for our Project Radio!Do you love Radio/music Do you have a good knowledge of local events and can help steer interactive and engaging content Are you a good communicator can you engage audiencesAre you patient, kind and empathetic We are looking for someone to support our services users to deliver an exciting, varied radio station.You must have a genuine interest in live broadcasting, podcasting, production, and music, along with current affairs. Previous experience is not essential, but the right personality along with the passion to learn is key. Any previous experience and/or trainingis advantageous.The Focus of your Role:You will work within our community skills project, alongside other team members of the radio station and customers to write, record, edit and upload shows as well as live broadcasting in and out of our studio in Fetcham, Surrey.Job Description

  • Support our service users to present and host a radio show
  • Gather & curate content for the Radio
  • Create content for social media
  • Plan themes & ideas for the Radio.
  • Deliver entertaining and engaging content
  • Grow audience across all platforms, ie. on air and on social media.
  • Offer a creative view to continuously improve the station and running of the wider department, fulfilling the stations potential.
  • Forward plan and generate fresh ideas.
  • This job requires total participation and production, including keeping the social media team up to date with everything that is happening within the radio station and its content. You will look after daily show content produced to a high standard.
The Ideal Candidate
  • You should be able to demonstrate an interest in broadcasting, teaching, writing news stories, culture and local events.
  • You should be passionate about radio and are confident in communicating, and can produce engaging, high-standard content.
  • You are familiar with social media and major news sources
  • You will have the dedication to be able to research and produce shows.
  • You will be able to work calmly and accurately, willing to learn editing skills, basic regulations and work with external third parties where necessary.
  • Occasional weekends will be required where the radio station is broadcasting live at local events, like shows and festivals, this is mainly in the summer.
