Job Description

Bladon MT is currently recruiting for an Experienced Product Quality Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative engineering Company and use your skills and extensive knowledge within a supportive, engaging and fast paced environment.The Product Quality Technician (PQT) will join our dedicated team in Coventry. Our PQTs directly support our Product Quality Engineers, responsible for "cradle to grave" product quality activities.Key Responsibilities:

  • NPI activities with the suppliers and Bladon MT internally
  • Launch activities
  • Ongoing support maintaining and developing of Bladon MT and supplier performance by correlating and presenting supplier, internal, customer and warranty data
  • Identifying and supporting VA/VE activities to maintain and improve Bladon MTs position in the world market
    • Specific Tasks:Supplier Facing Activities NPI
  • Support project meetings with Bladon and suppliers
  • Participating in cross-functional teams in the development of new products
  • Conduct incoming inspection in accordance with inspection plans and engineering documentation
  • Initiate NCIORS, communicate with suppliers to return/ replace stock
  • Coordinate supplier on site stock sorts
  • Complete all stock control activities to ensure cost recovery
  • Reporting supplied part status into Bladon MT project meetings
  • Escalating issues that impact on program deliverables
  • Supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications and product approval
  • Storage and maintenance of supplier mater samples
    • Supplier Facing Activities on Going
  • Maintain and compile supplier performance data to support supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues
  • Coordinate supplier performance, problem solving, cost recovery
  • Collating and evaluating supplier quality data to support PQA Engineering
    • Plant Quality
  • Promote right first-time methodologies
  • Supporting internal builds
  • Support internal quality audits, applying best practice and coordinating audit plans
  • Collate and analyse line performance data to support PQA Engineering
  • Supporting root cause analysis activities to identify internal and supplier technical issues
  • Maintenance of process control documentation when changes are need after product or process changes are made or when internal or external non-conformances drive changes
  • Creating and maintaining a highly visual communication and feedback loop - Quality Alert system to ensure high levels of communication and awareness are achieved
  • Collate and analyse internal Quality performance as detailed in Bladon MT site metrics to support PQA Engineering
  • Respond to and work cross functionally to resolve reported customer technical issues - early life failures and warranty to positively impact performance trends and prevent repeat issues

  • Experience in automotive or aerospace Quality Assurance Engineering
  • Preferably qualified to HNC level within a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical /Electrical.)
  • An understanding of 1 or more of the following; casting, pressing, harnesses, electronics
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Understanding of 8D, 5 why Ishikawa, is/ is not
  • Basic understanding of ISO9001, preferably internal auditor trained
  • Understanding of Process Flow, Control Plan Process FMEA
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to support a cross functional team where required
  • Able to read Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of SAP, good understanding of Microsoft Office
