Accountable for the performance, welfare and engagement of several large teams across multiple lab linesDevelopment and upskilling of lab staff to ensure high-functioning, flexible teams, spanning across all required technical areas and soft skills.This will include ongoing staff development through the Training AcademySupport the design and implementation of scientific assays where appropriateEnsure all lab activities, Standard Operating Procedures and equipment are fully compliant and maintained Accountable for the successful flow of the end-to-end process across all lab lines, achieving key Turnaround Targets for each lineAct as a mentor and final escalation point for any technical and scientific issues, and determine correct means of resolution,including technical issue investigation and process efficiency improvementsDirect line management of approx. 4-6 Associate Principal Scientists, including managing performance, development, engagement and welfare and the probation and appraisals processes Support the design and implementation of scientific assays where appropriateOversight of and support to on-going recruitment and development of senior lab staff, ensuring optimal staff capability to fulfil the end-to-end patient testing processChampionHealth and Safety, ensuring that all lab lines are following safe and defined processesResponsible for ensuring that quality standards are met, escalating to senior management and support teams as necessaryIdentify continuous improvement opportunitiesto enhance the procedures, systems and principles, and oversee the testing and introduction of any new methodologiesMaintain and develop the working Production Guidance, ensuring its effective deployment across the lab linesMaintain continuous end toend communication between the various lab lines, including clear and concise handovers, to ensure a smooth transition between shiftsManage relationships with key stakeholders and senior management, discussing and proposing resolutions to a wide varietyof complex issuesAre you looking for a change to work for an organisation that makes a difference in the societyThen this is the right role for you!We are looking for Principal Scientists to join the Rosalind Franklin Laboratory in Leamington Spa.Whats in it for you18 months Temp Contract£73,456 per annum, £37.67 per hour10% Retention PaymentShift pattern for you to choose with to suit your needsResponsibilities
