Fixed Term Contract Were currently seeking Lab Technicians based in and around Leamington Spa to work within a state of the art, high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UKs NHS Test and Trace programme.As well as playing a vital role in supporting societys return to a more normal way of life by helping to break the chains of COVID-19 transmission, you will also gain invaluable experience and exposure to some of the countrys most highly skilled individuals in the scientific community.This represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to go above and beyond to support public health, while also developing first-rate technical skills and setting your Scientific career up for future success.You will be joining a supportive environment and will be provided with training and accreditation for the role and processes you are required to undertake.If of interest and you meet the criteria of the below, please apply via the following link - Your responsibilities:As a Lab Technician, you will be required to process samples from receipt, through to sample processing and storage, in line with laboratory and quality management processes. You will also be required to work in accordance to laboratory SOPs and ensure high levels of cleanliness in the laboratory area.Lab Technicians will have a familiarity with the lab environment and experience of running laboratory processes. You will support testing within a specific section of the process (e.g. sample processing, extraction, PCR preparation) and will work closely with other Lab Technicians and Bio Scientist Leads to identify issues in the lab to facilitate timely resolution.You will ensure that processes are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the laboratorys required standards, performing the role in accordance with technical documents and SOPs compliant with the laboratorys accredited standards.This role requires individuals who have some experience working in a laboratory environment and a clear understanding of the health and safety protocols in a lab environment.
