Job Description

Fixed Term ContractWere currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor based in and around Warwickshire to work within a state of the art, high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UKs NHS Test and Trace programme, helping societys return to a more normalway of life.Gain invaluable experience and exposure to some of the countrys most highly skilled individuals in the scientific community and join a supportive environment where training and accreditation (where relevant) will be provided for this role.What you can expect:

  • Working with the senior leadership team to develop, implement and manage Health and Safety leadership and technical expertise in the form of written policies, guidelines and procedures, verbal communications and practical involvement fulfilling the legalrequirement of competent person.
  • To participate in the development, progression and implementation of the site safety management system, and to attend whole Team H&S meetings and Biosafety meetings in order to promote the philosophy and obtain feedback to ensure consistency in standardsand approach.
  • To interpret and ensure appropriate application of UK H&S legislation and incorporate them into H&S policies and guidelines.
  • Be aware of and prepare for changes in legislation.
  • Take ownership of the site Environment, Health & Safety. Environment (EHS) self-inspection programmes and perform self-inspection audits. Generate written reports to management.
  • Working with the training team, ensure adequate provision of H&S training for employees, through external training providers and development and delivery of in-house training packages.
What were looking for:
  • Mandatory: A Level 6 EHS Qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
  • Mandatory: Previous experience within an EHS Advisor role
  • Preferable: Membership to the Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) (Or working towards)
  • Preferable: Qualification in Biosafety
In return:You will receive a minimum 18-month contract with opportunity to go permanent and competitive rate of pay and a 10% retention bonus (paid at 9 and 12 months).
