Job Description

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary environmental and engineering company and includes a well-established and successful development planning team, supported by in-house master planners, environmental, transport,engineering and stakeholder engagement teams.The EIA team delivers EIAs for a wide range of high-profile projects across a variety of sectors, many of which are the largest infrastructure projects in the UK! The planning team works throughout the UK with major landowners, house builders and developers,Government departments and agencies, local authorities, infrastructure providers, utility and energy companies. Projects are often high profile and at the leading edge of professional practice.To build on current successes and help deliver an established and expanding portfolio of projects centred on the promotion and delivery of major development schemes, including urban extensions and new garden communities, our client is now seeking an experiencedPrincipal Consultant / Associate Director with a track record of undertaking EIAs within the property sector to join the team based in Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Bristol or London.This firms ambition for further growth means its an exciting time to join, and be part of a fast paced, high profile and growing team with high level strategic support; where you will have the opportunity to not only develop your technical delivery andproject management experience, but to play an active role in shaping the future direction of the team.Requirements to Apply

  • You will be qualified to degree level in Town Planning or relevant environmental discipline
  • You will hold membership of the RTPI or Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)
  • You will have significant professional experience, with a substantial part of that spent in the UK private consultancy environment
  • You will be technically confident and persuasive with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Attention to detail, as well as a commitment to delivery of high quality and timely outputs
  • A sound understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation, particularly in the field of EIA and some practical knowledge of some or all of the technical disciplines required for an EIA
  • You will have experience in managing EIAs (from small to large sized projects) and managing multi-disciplinary project teams to tight deadlines and strictly defined budgets
  • A desire to work as team player in a constructive team environment, combined with an ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and internal and external project stakeholders
  • An understanding of the importance of health and safety excellence
  • You will have a full UK drivers licence
