Iress is continuing to hire for roles during Covid-19 with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.Are you a data whizz Do you dream in SQL scripts We need you!We’re on the hunt for a Data Migration Analyst to join us, focusing on supporting Iress clients with data migration from a number of source systems into Iress flagship product, Xplan. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining SQL scripts to interrogate client data and taking ownership of executing data migrations.As well as supporting with the end to end process of a migration, including assisting with the migration setup, execution and post-migration analysis, you’ll also be developing, testing and maintaining migration tools for single-use or re-use and running migrations for a variety of 3rd party systems as per our clients requests. We want to be the best at what we do, and so should you.You’ll be proactively identifying and addressing issues that have the potential to impact a migration, as well as identifying reasons for migration failures and working with the wider team to fix them.To do this, you’ll need to have some hands-on experience of building, maintaining and running data migration utilities and a good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Database Management tools, with experience of writing SQL scripts. An understanding of environments and infrastructure, with some exposure to Cloud technologies, would be really helpful too as we’re in the process of implementing a pretty exciting Cloud platform strategy but this can be taught.Communication is key! You’ll be the go-to for our clients on all things data during migration projects.As well as having excellent attention to detail, you’ll need to be comfortable liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, working through technical queries with other teams at Iress and with our clients.
