Job Description

Our client, a leading global multi-industry engineering provider of technology, product innovation and strategic consulting. They are seeking CNC Milling Machining Setter Operators and Gear Grinders in Leamington Spa.The role involves working in a small team to deliver high quality transmission components, mainly for the Motorsport, Supercar and aerospace industries. Our client offers a competitive salary and benefit packages, working in a clean safe environment, alongwith excellent training, and development prospects.Working hours: Friday - Sunday (6pm-6am) 36hours a week with OT available. Training will take place on a Day shift.Rates of pay: £15.59 - £20.83 + OT x1.5 (There is also a retainer bonus paid out in a lump sum upon completion of each contractual period)Whats involved in the job

  • Programme, Set and Operate Studer CNC Grinder (manual grinding experience would be advantageous).
  • Programming of Fanuc 16T control and Studer Picto programming software.
  • Grinding of aerospace and transmission components to ensure parts are to drawing and of an acceptable standard.
  • Use of various inspection equipment, to determine size and surface finish.
  • Manual grinding as and when required cylindrical, internal/external and surface grinding.
Required skills for the right candidate:
  • Experience with bevel gear grinding or CNC / Manual grinding will be advantageous.
  • Must be vigilant and diligent, with a good attention to detail, and able to maintain high standards of work.
  • To understand and interpret requirements accurately, by effective questioning, listening, clarification and implementing of information, and record results.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in order to liaise with colleagues.
  • Use of literacy skills to complete route cards, records, etc.
  • To have basic PC skills to ensure electronic system is kept up to date.
  • An industrious and enquiring individual working alone or as part of a team, without direct supervision
  • A willingness to learn new skills and advance their potential to becoming a competent and flexible member of the manufacturing team.
  • Proven experience within a grinding environment.
  • Good knowledge of grinding wheel grades, types, and cutting data.
  • Must have completed Apprenticeship.
  • Must be flexible within the team covering other shifts if required.
