Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Logistics Coordinator to join a well established and highly regarded business based in Knottingley.As Logistics Coordinator you will play a key role in the distribution of finished product and the bringing in of raw material to the factory.The success ful candidate will join the business on a Temp to Perm basis on successfully completing 12 weeks.Responsibilities of the Logisitics Coordinator include:

  • Daily customer delivery co-ordination, amendment and liaison
  • Respond to supplier enquiries, liaising with other stakeholders in order to resolve queries, solve problems and maintain a high quality service
  • Respond to customer enquiries, liaising with other departments and or Plants in order to resolve queries, solve problems and maintain a high quality service
  • Weekly & monthly forecasting of deliveries
  • Allocation of transport jobs based upon logistics strategic priorities, including carriage to store transport movements coordination
  • Interrogate systems and reports to provide accurate information and efficient allocation of stock and stock rotation
  • Export traffic and warehouse co-ordination and liaison
  • Out of hours and weekend cover, completion of activity log
  • Regular communication with external and internal personnel in order to maintain an effective communication flow and improve efficiency
THe successful Logistics Coordinator will have:
  • Experience working within the Logistics function
  • Experience with transport planning
  • Knowledge and experience of inventory and stock control
  • Experience with order processing
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Confident working with computer systems e.g. the internal SAP system (essential) and 3rd party systems
  • Be able to work on their own initiative with personal drive, as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to identify and respond to problems in a fast paced environment
  • Manage their own workload in an organised and timely way
We would like to invite applications from candiudates with experience of: Supply Chain, Logistics, 3PL and Transport sectors.Knottingley is comnmuntable from: Castleford, Pontefract, Wakefield, Doncaster, Goole, Sherburn In Elmet etc.Salaryt guide for the role is £23000 - £25000 with company benefits and is on a 12 week, Temp to Perm basis.
