Job Description

A West Midlands Local Authority,are looking for a childrens Team Manager to join their Leaving Care Service!As a Team Manager within this serviceyou will be working with young Adults. You will have a significant level of knowledge and experience in childrens social care and a good understanding of the challenges facing young people leaving care.Responsibilities of the role:

  • To achieve the best possible positive outcomes for children and young people across the service.
  • To support and direct the work of the Team and the priorities therein through a reflective and systemic approach to all work with children, young people and families.
  • To ensure that a systemic approach is deployed both in terms of practitioners working together on case work and direct work with children and families
  • To undertake the prioritisation and allocation of work within the Team, ensuring focused and purposeful social work interventions with explicit aims and objectives about desired outcomes.
  • To prepare, attend and chair where applicable a range of meetings and decision-making forums on specific cases as required and in consultation with the principal manager.
Requirements of the role:
  • Social Work qualification
  • Social Work England registered
  • Must have strong background & working knowledge within statutory childrens services (local authority)
  • Must have management experience within a local authority childrens services setting
  • You will be familiar with key legislation and national policy.
