Job Description

Assistant Buyer£25,000- £27,000KingswinfordPermanentWorking within the Purchasing team, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Junior Buyer will provide timely and accurate information to assist in the control of materials. You will support the production plan by monitoring and reporting delivery schedulesto ensure production requirements are supported. The ideal candidate will have previous experience gained within a Supplier interface environment. You will have good PC skills, in particular Excel. The role requires good communication skills to work effectivelywith internal and external stakeholders, attention to detail and strong prioritisation skills to be effective in a busy working environment.Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Taking Supplier schedules from the Purchasing Team and updating and reporting Supplier schedules.
  • Maintaining bills of material to ensure accurate information is communicated.
  • Processing information into the ERP system.
  • Co-ordination of Supplier visits.
  • Producing reports to measure departmental performance.
  • Processing and monitoring purchase requisitions.
  • Data entry of stock information, contribution to stock control.
  • Working with our goods inwards department to support efficient stock control.
Skills, Interests, and background
  • An Engineering background preferable.
  • Experience within a procurement environment.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • An enthusiastic attitude.
  • A full driving licence
