Job Description

About the Service / DepartmentKingston Mental Health service provides accommodation and also floating support support to adults aged 18+ with low to medium-level mental health needs.The service operates with collaboration at its heart, working directly with service users to promote independence and wellbeing with an ultimate focus on recovery. All service users are in control of their recovery and staff supportindividuals at a pacethat suits the user.About the role

  • Create and lead a high-performing team to achieve individual and serviceoutcomes
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of and ensure that your service adheres to therelevant legislation and policy including GDPR, Safeguarding Adults and Children,Health and Safety, Care Act, housing related support, Mental Health services andHestia policiesandprocedures.
  • Ability to communicate skills needed to develop effective relationships with teams,individuals, their serviceusers
  • Create and maintain positive and effective relationships within and beyond theorganisation
  • Ensuring that the service and all members of the team understand and have astrong focus on Hestias safeguarding procedures andlegislations
  • Ensure that all service and client information is appropriately recorded and sharedin line with policy, legislation and goodpractice
  • Deliver co-produced services that is outcome based and person-centred
  • Support others to challenge discrimination and exclusion in ways that are likely toachievechange.
  • Deliver services that are safe, complying with all relevant health and safety policiesandlegislation
  • Ensure a commitment to personal development by continually improving learnersown knowledge and practice and that of the team through, self-reflection,supervision and performancemanagement.
  • Manage and show accountability for service resources through recruitment,retention and induction; budgetary control; disciplinary and grievance processes,arrears and voids management and service performancedata
  • Use strategies and tools to build self-resilience, maintain wellbeing whilst deliver toworkloadrequirements.
  • To ensure that theorganisationsstrategies aremetand policies, procedures andvalues are adhered to in all matters of servicedelivery
  • To work with the Senior Management Team including the Area Manager andRegional Director to enable theorganisationto develop its aims and objectives byparticipating in strategic planning and delivery processes to furtherorganisationalpolicy and practicedevelopment across the widerservice.
About you
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team based across various premises to achieveserviceoutcomes
  • Demonstrable experience of managingaccommodation basedsupport servicesfor clients who have complex and challenging mental healthissues.
  • Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording,reviewing and auditing service users support and safety assessmentplans.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how to implementpolicy inpractice.
  • Manage all elements of service performance related to the contract requirementsincluding analysis of KPIs, outcomes and user experiencemeasures
  • Lead on the development and implementation the services annual BusinessPlans.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively to a wide range ofaudiences
  • Numerate and literate with the ability to interrogate budgets, data and producereports
  • Able to confidently use a range of IT packages including MS Office anddatabases
  • Good understanding of housing management and the ability to manage arrears,voids, health and safety and propertystandards
  • Lead in planning, negotiating and managing thebudgets
  • An understanding of co-production and the ability to ensure that the service isdelivered in partnership with serviceusers
  • Experience of recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, training, disciplinaryaction and grievanceissues
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address themappropriately
