Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF JOBMobile network engineer required to implement new network installs alongside the service provider at various Council locations.Candidates must demonstrable an in-depth understanding of security, networking and VoIP and have a track record of delivering excellent customer service.Process

  • Creates quality operational procedures for recoverability, availability, capacity and security management. Ensures they are documented and auditable in line with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for technical queries from other teams in ICT
  • Ensures that all documentation is written, maintained and executed to the highest standards.
  • Ensures the security of the ICT systems both physically and logically.
Performance
  • Works to agreed priorities
  • Works within and acts as a champion of the Councils ITIL Framework
  • Contributes ideas to support the development of team service plan
Essential:
  • A track record of delivering excellent customer service
  • Demonstrable, in-depth understanding of security, Networking, VOIP and a broad understanding of IT Infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of some of the following
o Network protocolso Switching and routingo Network security, IDS,IPSo Proxy servers, DMZs, firewalls (application and packet)o Cisco networking productso Microsoft products - windows server and domain products Citrix / VDI/ XenAppo Network management toolsets SCOM, SCORN, SCCM, SOLAR WINDS
