Our client is a UK specialist waste and resource management group serving the hazardous waste management sector, the oil and gas industry, nuclear and radioactive sectors, operating at locations across the UK. Following exceptional business performance,growth and operational delivery, the business is now poised to continue their plans to grow their expertise and market share in key vertical sectors.A high profile and exciting opportunity has emerged to lead their key strategic East Northants Resource Facility (ENRMF) at Kings Cliffe and Thornhaugh. These facilities are only one of seven in the UK which manage and processes a wide range of hazardouswaste and soil treatment. The sites have national significance in providing safe management of hazardous wates streams and to the circular economy.Operations Manager Role:Due to the strategic importance, size, and established profile of this facility you will report directly to the Chief Operating Office. You will have responsibility for operating a safe, efficient, and commercially established hazardous waste operation.You will ensure that the facility complies with all Health & Safety, Legislative, Statutory and Company Policies and Procedures and that you meet and exceed agreed business plans and commercial targets.We are searching for an up-and-coming Operations leader, and the right individual who wants ownership and influence the way the operations thinks by providing effective planning and operational leadership, developing efficiencies whilst ensuring plant optimisationand commercial performance. Your key accountabilities are going to be around leadership, hands on operational and process management, creating the right culture and strong teams, stakeholder management, whilst maintaining profit and most importantly qualityand safety to ensure standards are met and continually developed. You will be recognised as an effective process and systems operational leader. This is a rare and unique opportunity for the right individual who can influence the way the operations thinksby their proven leadership;

• Set a personal example about Health & Safety.Personally, lead the embedding and development of a positive safety culture at all levels across your area of responsibility.
• Optimise output from the plant balancing cost against revenue using key performance indicators (KPIs) and best practice working.
• Effective management and planning of future cell locations ensuring all transport, void space and traffic challenges are managed and communicated to meet business critical deadlines.
• Review and implement maintenance plan. Ensuring all assets and site-based transport and mobile equipment including stores are all correctly maintained and protected whilst ensuring all access areas are kept clean and presentable in line with all regulationsin respect of road traffic and vehicle movement.
• Effective communication management with all key stakeholders internally and externally.
• Lead by example to build an engaged workforce ensuring there are adequate levels of skills, expertise, and resource in the facility through effective man-power planning, performance management, training, talent/development reviews and succession planning.
• Ensure quality management in the operations including output specification controls for all processed material.
• Ensure financial management of CAPEX and the compilation of relevant financial information for setting budgets and forecasting as required, including implementation of the annual ENRMF business plan ensuring all performance indicators are met.

Operations Manager Person Specification:If you consider yourself an empowering and up and coming operational leader who has got the appetite to develop this facility to the next level and maintain its track record, then we look forward to hearing from you. The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrablestrong track record of success in operational management from - recycling/collection/treatment/renewable/landfill, production process/manufacturing, muck away/aggregate related facility or relative process engineering environment where productivity, process,quality, and safety are of paramount importance. Common sense and an inquisitive and logical mind-set will hold you in good stead. Experience of Six Sigma/Lean methodologies would be beneficial.

• Transferable leadership and operational management skills are very important, added benefit if possess WAMITAB/COTC/NEBOSH/ISOH.
