Job Description

Electrician Up to £42000 per annum Peterborough and Cambridge Region Permanent RoleDay ShiftsWe are currently recruiting for an Electrician to cover Peterborough, Cambridge and surrounding areas. Working independently, you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance within the Commercial sector.Electrician Job Role:

  • To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the onsite supervisor
  • Service equipment.
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Electrically you will be working on single and three phase systems, fire alarm testing, lighting and power, UPS systems and more electrical duties.
  • Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
  • Work flexible working hours to suit business requirements.
  • Escalate issues to Supervisor/Contract Manager immediately.
  • Form part of the out of hours call out rota, attend emergency repair works as required.
  • To liaise with specialist sub-contractors and engineers with other disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the plant / area without disruption to the client.
Electrician Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Full apprenticeship or minimum of NVQ level 3
  • 18th edition ideally
  • Industrial / Commercial trained electricians
  • Tools: Own all tools and have own test equipment
  • Need to be able to work independently from start to finish of a project
  • Experience of working on single and three phase systems, fire alarm testing, lighting and power, UPS systems and more electrical duties.
  • Fault finding skills on all forms of electrical plant / systems.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Strong fault-finding experience is essential in this role, and you will be expected to carry out works on traditional plant equipment right through to more modern systems
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Due to the nature of the contract, you will need to go through contract specific vetting - DBS, financial and employment background checks
Electrician Desirable Skills:
  • Ideally be computer literate
  • IPAF & PASMA desirable
  • JIB Gold Card
Electrician Package:
  • Up to £42000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 0800 - 1730 - 42.5 hours a week
  • Onsite parking
  • On call allowance
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Company life insurance
  • Company van fuel card
