We are actively seeking an enthusiastic Foundation Law Lecturerto become an integral part of our dynamic team in Swansea. As a Foundation Law Lecturer, you will develop and deliver engaging classes on foundational legal concepts, emphasizing interactive teaching methods and creating inclusive course materials. You willprovide academic support through tutorials and workshops, design assessments, and handle academic administration tasks. This includes moderation, assessment marking, module and program reviews, and attendance monitoring. You will actively contribute to curriculumdevelopment, aligning with program outcomes and quality assurance standards. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in student retention initiatives, and staying updated on advancements in legal education and teaching technologies through professionaldevelopment are integral to your commitment. Hours of Work: The post is fixed term, flexible hours for two semesters, from January August 2024 Salary: £36.50 - £45 per teaching hour depending on experience (plus meeting rate and marking rate for examinations)Foundation Law Lecturer Requirements: Teaching foundation law (or similar module), including Contract Law, Public Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Legal Research Skills Teaching experience at FE / HE level Developing teaching and learning materials Writing andmoderating assessments Proven experience of working effectively across academic and professional services teams A minimum of a bachelors degree in law or a related field A teaching qualification would be advantageous Demonstrated knowledge of legal principlesExcellent academic administration and time management skills Ability to use own initiative but to also know when to escalate issues/situations Strong communication skills and a passion for imparting knowledge Ability to work collaboratively within a team-orientedenvironment Desirable: Teaching qualification Masters degree Experience of teaching international students Supporting learning / teaching with a widening access agenda Welsh speaker Meet the Organisation: Who We Are and What We Do The College, Swansea Universityis a Joint Venture partnership between Swansea University and Navitas, a highly successful partnership of 14 years, founded originally as International College Wales, Swansea (ICWS).
