Job Description

Reed Secure is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions for security cleared professionals.We require aResourcing Expert to cover an existing workload withinMetropolitan Police, based in Kilburn Police Station (1 or 2 days office based per week).This is an interim position for aninitial 6 monthswith the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.Role purpose:

  • The resourcing expert is an internal consultant and expert on selection and recruitment, providing an enabling business support role, access to an end-to-end resourcing & talent specialist service as deployed and assigned by the Resourcing Lead.
  • Particular areas of focus would include working closely and collaboratively with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and the outsourced providers in the delivery of volume, non-volume and senior staff recruitment activity.
  • Make a key contribution by taking on the resourcing expert role in developing recruitment and assessment solutions and driving delivery directly or via outsourced partners to meet the annual Workforce Plan and the Met People Strategy.
  • Responsible for leading resourcing for a specific group of roles as assigned by the Resourcing Lead.
  • Working as a close partner to the business leaders (hiring managers) but remaining closely engaged with the wider HR community, in order to shape a consistent strategic narrative on recruitment that is in line with Met priorities.
  • Creating talent pools and staffing pipelines, through supporting recruitment, promotion and talent programmes – geared to specific business areas and cognisant of current and future staffing needs.
Skills required to be successful in the role:
  • Established skills as a recruitment and assessment expert, gained through direct experience within a recruitment environment, including candidate management, expert advice to hiring managers in end to end recruitment process and attraction strategies andrecruitment and assessment design.
  • Experience providing advice, support, recommendations to hiring managers on recruitment and assessment / selection.
  • Experience of implementing targeted recruitment and selection processes to address business challenges, for example to deliver high quality candidates for specialist or hard to fill roles or to deliver against organisation diversity and inclusion ambitions.
  • Experience of working closely with business based line management within an operational environment, providing advice on complex HR issues.
  • A track record of having worked in an environment that has supported the design and implementation of successful people interventions.
  • Proven experience of having managed people and other resources effectively and efficiently.
