Senior Mitel Engineer

Bath & North East Somerset Council are looking for a Senior Mitel Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. You will be the technical lead for all Mitel and Voice related activities for the council. Over recent years the council has invested heavily inits Mitel estate and has deployed Mitel based Micollab softphones to all users.The successful candidate will come from a strong voice background and will be able to demonstrate experience with the full Mitel portfolio. Whilst evidencing traditional voice experience, the ideal candidate will be experienced in complimentary technologiesparticularly around contact centres, SIP and have experience of deploying solutions in virtual environments. Implementing Microsoft Teams based hybrid telephony environments would be advantageous.You will be supporting a large and complex environment based on the Mitel portfolio of products including:MiVoice Business, MSL, MiCollab, MBG (teleworker), NuPoint Messenger, Contact Center, MiCC, Multi Media, IVR,Qualifications and Certifications

• Mitel Certification: MiVB
• Mitel Certification: MiCC Inbound and Outbound
• Mitel Certification: MiCollab

As part of your role, your duties will include:

• Responsible for the running and support of the Mitel voice platform
• Dealing with day to day service desk tickets and supporting others in the team
• Working with service areas to better understand their telephony requirements and help design and build appropriate solutions
• Working with colleagues and third-party suppliers to manage and participate in infrastructure projects according to business requirement.
• Managing and monitoring security systems, following up and resolving any alerts raised.
• Managing and monitoring backup and replication systems; carrying out restores when necessary.

To be considered for the role, you will need to:

• Demonstrate extensive Mitel telephony experience across a wide range of their products suits
• If not a Mitel engineer then you must be able to demonstrate extensive voip experience across equivalent products from a 3rd party e.g. softphones, voicemail, voice controllers, sip routing and IVR etc.
• Have at least 5 years experience in a large corporate IT environment.
• Have previous experience within a 3rd line support role. Candidates with extensive 2nd line experience who can demonstrate the aptitude to advance into 3rd line support will be considered.
• Experience supporting a Microsoft hybrid infrastructure running Azure and Active Directory services would be advantageous.
• Have a demonstrated working knowledge of cyber security concepts and systems.
• Have a problem solving / analytical mind with good communication and organisational skills.
