Testing Technician required to join a Flammability Team testing furniture and flooring samples on behalf of customers based worldwide, ensuring products meet a minimum level of quality.The department consists of a number of accredited laboratories using a range of test equipment and machinery to test the physical properties of furniture and floor coverings against International, European and British standards.The results from these tests are then reported to customers and used for product development or to apply for CE or UKCA certification.The Floor Coverings Flammability team consists of multi-skilled Technicians, Technologists and support staff arranging and conducting the testing process of floor coverings and furniture.Full training will be provided.Following training, the successful job holder will be required to: Test flammability samples to British, European and International standards Record results on paper or electronically Prepare test samples prior to testing Record and calculate test results - electronically and on paper in preparation for reports Maintain storage of samples and tidiness of the laboratoryApplications are invited from candidates with the following skills and attributes: GCSEs in English, Mathematics and Science - minimum grade C Highly organised, enthusiastic, able to work independently or as part of a team Ability to accurately follow testing procedures and methods Competent in Microsoft Office - Excel and Word A meticulous eye for detail, good organizational and time management skillsNB: Experience of working in a test laboratory would be desirable but not essentialThe Flammability Testing Technicians role offers a great opportunity to develop a career working in a modern laboratory environment within this well-respected organisation providing lab testing and certification services to clients within the UK and throughoutthe world.The role pays a competitive salary and benefits, including 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, flexible working hours, subsidised dining, car parking facilities, etc.Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekFull information and job description available on application.
