Job Description

Quality Technologist required for a specialist testing organisation with head offices in the Kettering area. The successful job holder will join the Quality Services Department to support customers based both in the UK and worldwide. Extensivetravel within the UK and overseas will be required to conduct audits and calibration of customers equipment and will involve being away from home for up to three weeks at a time. Training in all aspects of the role will be provided.The role will involve:

  • Calibrating of special purpose test machinery and laboratory equipment at customers sites
  • Auditing of laboratories to company and customers specifications
  • Writing of test reports and calibration certificates
  • Training and assessing laboratory staff in the set-up, use of lab quality systems, test methods and the correct use of equipment
Applications are invited from candidates with the following attributes:
  • Ability to travel extensively in the UK and overseas for up to 3 weeks at a time
  • Full Driving Licence and confidence driving domestically and internationally (USA / Europe)
  • A high level of mechanical dexterity
  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths
  • Practical and mechanical dexterity
  • Technical understanding
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Highly organised, attentive to detail and possess effective planning skills
  • Good social and communication skills - able to interact with people across all levels of the organisation and across diverse cultures
Desirable skills / experience:
  • Previous quality assurance or laboratory experience
  • Experience of working in a physical testing laboratory environment
  • Multi-lingual, ability to speak different languages
  • Understanding of clothing / footwear products or manufacturing knowledge
