Job Description

Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Planner to join our Supply Chain team, responsible for ensuring all direct material Purchase Orders are placed in line with material requirements, and within the agreed supplier lead-times, optimal managementof direct materials to meet business objectives for service and inventory, working within agreed target stock levels, ensuring minimal write off exposure, managing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and longer-term forecast visibility. Someof your key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensuring materials are readily available to meet production plans to achieve target service levels and to identify/mitigate potential risks
  • Identifying demand requirements and managing orders with suppliers in line with the SLAs
  • Proactively tracking purchase orders to ensure on time delivery and all advanced requirements are met prior to good being received
  • Monitoring stock levels in line with the inventory stock holding targets and identifying any MOQ/EOQ and lead-time improvements
  • Working with the Production Planners to ensure any plan change decisions avoid incurring additional costs
  • Managing suppliers on a day-to-day basis. Monitoring and reporting supplier performance data and reviewing supplier demand forecasts
  • Supporting change projects that impact on direct material requirements relating to timings and constraints around Pack Change, NPD and discombobulation
  • Ensuring silo orders are placed and monitored/maintained on a daily basis ensuring continued supply to the Business Units
Requirements You will ideally have previous experience as a Materials Planner, be a decisive and confident individual, with excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills. You will have robust stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability toinfluence and negotiate effectively. Youll be able to demonstrate good numerical and statistical skills, as well as strong risk management and forecasting experience, ideally gained within an FMCG environment.
