Job Description

Do you have Degree qualified BEng or equivalent Are you an experienced user of CAD / PDM systems, ideally Solid WorksIf so, this could be a perfect role for you!Our client, based near to Kettering is the worlds largest vehicle mounted platform manufacturer. They have over 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of premium quality access equipment. They alone have sold circa 11,000 units since its formationin 1994 and continues to lead the market and is the standout brand within the UK & Irish market.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a growing team. Some of your responsibilities will include, reviewing new technology and standards to make sure products are to the latest specification and meet all relevantstandards whilst making sure technical construction files are maintained and updated. Managing a team of engineers, supporting their continued professional development, as well as conducting performance reviews and disciplinarians where required.This is a permanent position with an excellent salary of £55k to £60k, working Monday to Friday - day-shift working hours.What you will be doing… Conducting technical project reviews with customers during lager bespoke projects Working with Body Builder representative from vehicle manufacturers to maintain relationships and up to date vehicle details and body builder accreditation where available Support both Production and Service with technical engineering support, as and when required Liaising with the wider Engineering community within the company on joint projects and general engineering knowledge transfer. Work as part of the Management Team helping support the day to day running of the business as well as reviewing and helping to drive the strategic direction of the company.What you will need… Experienced user of CAD / PDM systems (Solid Works preferable) Must be Degree qualified BEng or equivalent A high degree of aptitude with a willingness to "get the job done" The successful applicant must work well as part of a team with a dogmatic and deterministic approach FEA and material properties knowledge. Must be adept in taking a high level of responsibility and decision making on a day to day basis A drive for continuous improvement, helping develop a strong engineering ethos across the business Good experience of "hands on" engineering and Production Engineering methodologies.Proven team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Honest, Integrity, and Reliable with a good sense of humour Professional affiliation with the UK Engineering Council; preferably via IMechE.You should have a well-rounded engineering knowledge of Structures, Hydraulics, and Electrics as well as experience of people / team management. You should have an enthusiastic can-do attitude, desire to succeed and good time management skills.Applicants must have both good teamwork and communication skills and good working knowledge of CAD/PDM systems (Solid Works Preferable). Knowledge of other engineering software packages i.e. FEA would be desirable.Your benefits will include…
