Job Description

Job title: Caster Level 3Shift: 3 shift basis (6.00 am - 2.00 pm / 2.00 pm - 10.00 pm / 10.00 pm - 6.00 am).The roleOur client is looking for a Caster Level 3 to produce high quality parts and components through the smooth, efficient, and effective running of specified Die Cast Machinery. This role involves overseeing and supervising work and ensuring that specific elements of the daily production schedules are met. You will also be required to report to the Foundry Assistant Team Manager.Responsibilities include:

  • To manage the smooth operation of automated die cast machinery and produce parts/components to the specified quality standards.
  • To operate manual die cast machinery efficiently and effectively and produce parts/components to the specified quality standards.
  • To change dies and press tools on machinery unsupervised.
  • To adjust a spray programme on set machinery as and when instructed.
  • To check and reset nitrogen charge on set machinery.
  • To carry out temperature checks on machines as and when required.
  • To operate robots, including driving a robot out of a specified die space on hand and clear any basic faults.
  • To operate press tools and produce products to the required standard.
  • To be aware of and adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies stipulated by the company.
  • To initiate quality checks on all parts produced.
  • To change dies and press tools on machinery.
  • To carry out technical adjustments to machinery as appropriate.
  • The candidateIf you are looking to apply for this position, you must have:
  • 3 years experience within the metal casting or similar related industry.
  • Essential knowledge and capability to undertake die and press tool changes to machinery.
  • Detailed knowledge of all machinery operated and parts/components produced.
  • The ability to operate robots with due consideration for all aspects of health and safety and environmental awareness.
  • Health and Safety regulations/standards training.
  • The ability to be a flexible individual to adapt, respond to or innovate working practices, changing style or priorities to meet varying demands, as well as actively seeking to improve ways of working in own area.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • It is desired you have:
  • Mass production knowledge
  • Specialist knowledge of casting processes and parts produced.
  • Be able to prioritise work, identify problems and offer workable solutions.
