Commercial Services are supporting Kent County Council to recruit a Registered Manager for a new large Childrens Home in North Kent.This role will be responsible for overseeing the welfare and development of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) children within Kent County Council’s Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) Children’s Service.Kent County Council’s UAS Children’s Service provides vital accommodation and support to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent. The Service is recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding and is striving to become a national centre of excellencefor social work practice.This role presents an exciting opportunity to become part of the Children’s Home teams within the Service. Their Reception and Safe Care Services consist of Kent County Council-owned, Ofsted-regulated children’s homes and supported accommodation, collectivelyreferred to as Reception Centres. These Centres, overseen by a diverse team of managers and workers, are committed to safeguarding and supporting children as they take their initial steps towards finding a more permanent home elsewhere in the UK.We are looking for experienced Children’s Home Managers who are well-versed in Ofsted regulations and capable of maintaining high standards within a children’s home environment. Successful candidates will possess the skills necessary to manage staff effectivelyand ensure that the care needs of UAS children are met. They will be passionate about quality assurance and able to inspire their team to deliver exceptional care to UAS children at the outset of their resettlement journey.As a champion of social care values, this position will play a crucial role in delivering and enhancing services for children and young people. Offering day-to-day support and effective supervision will enable the team to navigate the complex and evolvingdemands of the service while facilitating continuous development.Candidates should demonstrate confidence in their ability to lead and nurture a team.
