Job Description

Fantastic new opening for an Operations and Event Manager at a stunning state of the art, wedding and private or corporate events venue in Wealden.As Operations and Event Manager you will report to the Directors and be responsible for day to day operations, driving the business forward, managing the office and a small team. This includes meetings with prospective clients and securing bookings,administering clients paperwork, running events, and manage accommodation. The ideal candidate needs to be highly organised, efficient, resourceful, a problem solver and good at adapting to new challenges. Close attention to detail is paramount. Previous management experience running a business or office is essential, ideally in events, public relations or hospitality.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the management of the office and all the day to day administration
  • Lead the events team and house-keeping department
  • Event management including marriage ceremonies, receptions, celebratory events, parties, memorial services and corporate events
  • Supervision of catering companies and other event suppliers such as florists, stylists, wedding planners, photographers, DJs and bands
  • Assisting the Directors with marketing, ecommerce and website content
  • Provide the highest standards of customer service, responding quickly and accurately to all incoming leads and requests for information
  • Showing prospective clients around the venue, securing bookings and following up on open quotes for further action
  • Gaining feedback from clients to improve service and implement change
  • Management of the accommodation for events and holiday guests
  • Management of general venue facilities
  • Management of office equipment and supplies
  • Overseeing inventories and cleaning schedules
Requirements:
  • Strong management style, confident to lead and support the existing team
  • Exceptional communication and people skills with a customer-oriented approach
  • Excellent organisation skills with key attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to a varied workload and to prioritise tasks within set time frames
  • Ability to finalise sales
  • Competence in email and report writing
  • IT proficient
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate
  • Previous experience within an events or office management position essential
