Job Description

Electronics Design EngineerKentc£35k + Fantastic BenefitsPermanent I am currently looking for an accomplished Electronics Design Engineer to take the lead on NPD and development, with the capability of dealing with all aspects of the current and planned product range.Being responsible for providing technical support for manufacturing and sales departments, you will have an understanding of emergent wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and their application to streaming audio in assistive listening scenariosKey Responsibilities include: -

  • Analogue (primarily audio) circuit design, including class "D" power amplifiers
  • Digital circuit design, including processors and interfaces
  • An in-depth knowledge of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth for streaming audio content
  • Embedded firmware design using the "C" programming language in a GCC environment
  • A working knowledge of embedded Linux on ARM platforms
  • A working knowledge of digital signal processing
  • An understanding of product design in relation to the regulatory requirements for EMC, ESD, and the Radio Equipment Directive
  • The ability to develop technical specifications from marketing department briefings
  • The ability to work occasionally in a customer facing environment with the possibility of site visits
  • The ability to work flexibly in a small design team
  • The ability to use the MS Office software suite and the Cadence OrCad design tools
    • HND/Degree qualified in Electronics or equivalent, you will have experience and working knowledge in the following: -
  • Electro-mechanical or sensor/instrumentation
  • Embedded circuit design and software development (Microchip PIC, Assembly and C & C++) The ability to work on and test surface-mount PCB assemblies
  • The ability to develop production test procedures
  • The ability to liaise with sub-contract manufacturers
  • An understanding of PCB design, particularly in relation to EMC and thermal considerations
  • An understanding of acoustics
