Job Description

Project Manager - Manufacturing Engineer required to assist with the move of an internal manufacturing facility for a legacy product. This is an exciting opportunity to fully own, end to end, and implement a discrete work package with multiple elements.The client is a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products, exhaust management systems and related value-added services, integral to manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays, LEDs and solar cells.

  • Based in ClevedonBS21
  • £34 - £40 per hour PAYE
  • £45 - £55 per hour payment via umbrella
  • Pay rate depending on experience
  • Excellent overtime rates after 37.5 hours worked per week
  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • Annual performance related bonus of up to 7.5% basic salary
  • Ample free parking and subsidised canteen on site
This role encompasses the overall delivery of this relocation project, which will include the following deliverables:
  • Process map - requirements, process flow, DFMEA, PFMEA, audits, design and process creep gap analysis etc
  • Supplier visit
  • Specify New Equipment
  • Obtain budget quotations
  • RFQ specification
  • Final Quotations (Team review)
  • Supplier selection
  • Raise CAPEX
  • Raise PO
  • Design reviews
  • Design freeze
  • Equipment lead time
  • Bulk material delivered to supplier
  • FAT (commissioning) (Factory Acceptance Testing)
  • SAT (commissioning) (Site Acceptance Testing)
  • CRW (Change Review Worksheet)
  • Decommissioning
  • Move Equipment into the new location
  • Commission moved equipment
  • SHE risk assessment
  • Operator training
  • Maintenance training
  • Build notes, WIs and process documents, control plan validated
  • PPAP or equivalent (Production Part Approval Process)
  • SOP (start of production)
The right candidate:
  • Manufacturing Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Experience leading small teams (engineers, purchasing, supplier quality)
  • Significant experience in a Manufacturing environment and with Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience of relocation of manufacturing facilities
  • Experience of process validation including SAT and FAT
  • Proven track record of project management of manufacturing projects
  • Experience with supplier liaison and management
