Job Description

Mechanical Engineer required for a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products, exhaust management systems and related value-added services, integral to manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays, LEDs and solar cells.Thiscompany is based in Clevedon, BS21 - Ideally situated by M5 junction 21, an easy commute for anyone living in Bridgwater, Cheddar, Bristol or Newport

  • Start ASAP, full time permanent role
  • Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
  • £30,000 to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • Annual performance related bonus of up to 7.5% basic salary

About the role
  • To design and develop modules/sub-assemblies of new products
  • Support sample approval of new parts and assemblies.
  • To verify that the designs meet the Master Specification and conform to the relevant design standards by calculation and/or testing as appropriate
  • Accountable for the detailed documentation of the design (3D models, drawings, design data, BOM) ensuring all relevant information is recorded in a timely manner
  • Participation in HAZOP, DFMEA studies and risk analysis techniques
  • To carry out/participate in and record risk assessments as required in the execution of a project
  • To support the introduction of new products onto the factory flow line and where necessary on customers sites
  • Analyse experimental data, summarise and document conclusions in report format
The right candidate
  • A good mechanically biased engineering degree (or other relevant engineering qualification with 2 years industry experience)
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly
  • Experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with several manufacturing methods/techniques
  • 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools)
