Job Description

Due to ongoing growth, a Lead Project Manufacturing Engineer is required to join the existing team at a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products, exhaust management systems and related value-added services. This role will encompass leading,managing and coordinating the Project Manufacturing Engineers (PMEs) in delivering manufacturing solutions for products and platforms through the various channels (e.g., NPI, CIP, sustaining, business strategy etc)

  • Based in Clevedon, BS21
  • £56,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 25 days holiday per year + bank holidays

About the job
  • Management and planning of PME activities to ensure capable capacity is maintained ensuring efficient workload
  • Provide Leadership to the PME team
  • Strategically guide the PMEs in development and modification of the manufacturing processes for new systems, platforms and sub-assemblies
  • Provide technical review and approval of Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) documents to supplement/support PCP projects to ensure compliance and alignment with current strategies
  • Ensure that production risk is eliminated by the embedding of risk management methodologies within the MRR and PME team
  • Ensure PCP Projects are delivered on time, to standard and within budget as part of cross functional team
  • Participate in project team meetings (PTMs) and senior reviews (PCMs) assisting PMEs and supporting engineering teams presenting manufacturing project status to site management team
  • To review, update and continuously improve the documentation utilised by the Manufacturing Systems Team
  • To liaise with the ME Lead and PDM-M Lead to ensure strategic alignment across the group and to support the Manufacturing Systems Manager
  • Ensure appropriate storage of all work created to allow Team access and visibility
  • Continuous Improvement of the Manufacturing System through contributions
Skills required
  • Engineering Degree with 3+ years experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment.
  • Project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects
  • Previous experience in key manufacturing principles such as TPM, 8D, 6S problem solving, product responsibility, continuous improvement process as well as new product introduction.
  • Excellent IT literacy, being a competent user of MS office
