Calling all qualified mental health nurses -Are you passionate about the care of older peopleDo you want to join a friendly and supportive team who strive to offer high quality, person centred careIf the answers are yes then we want to hear from you!We have a vacancy within our Complex Intervention and Treatment Team based at Windmill House in Kenn, Clevedon. The service works to support older people with mental health issues, including dementia, who are referred from the community, or older adult psychiatric wards, or general hospital wards. The service is for people who live in their own homes, and for those who live in care homes, within North Somerset. You will join a highly experienced and dedicated team who pride themselves on collaborative working with service users, carers and other professionals. We are passionate about supporting carers to use person centred approaches to reduces distress and promote wellbeing of their cared for person. We also aim to minimise the need for hospital admission, however if admission is required we try to make this as short and smooth as possibleWe have many opportunities for nurse development including Preceptor roles and CPD courses at UWE. There will be further training courses coming along in order that we are able to provide standardised care packages in terms of psychological approaches. We are integrated with the local authority so all care coordinators are able to set up care packages and care home placements. We recognize the complexity that this adds to the role and are able to ensure that caseloads are kept at around 25, or 5 per day worked if part time.Previous experience of working with older adults and/or in the community is desirable but not essential. The role will include use of computer systems so proficient use of IT is necessary. This is community role and you will need a driving licence and your own vehicle. For further details / informal visits contact:Helen Brook, Team Manager or Tracey McCrum, Senior Practitioner (01275) 335300Or via email
