Job Description

Payroll ManagerSalary circa 30-35k dependent on skills and experienceFull TimePermanent - Office based - BD20 6RBOur client is an award-winning artisan bakery manufacturer, founded in 1899.A vacancy has arisen for an experienced payroll Manager who will be responsible for all weekly/monthly payroll for circa 200 employees. Alongside this you will be responsible for staff contracts and any other HR ad-hoc duties as directed by management.Our client works with an external partner on HR/personnel matters so you will be required to oversee and monitor training.Key responsibilities but not limited to:-

  • Process new starters and leavers
  • Staff contracts
  • Input hours and administer payroll on a monthly/weekly basis
  • Produce relevant documents
  • Calculate & record holiday entitlements
  • Calculate & record SSP/SMP/SPP
  • Payroll queries
  • Post weekly & monthly journals
  • Work with external HR partner on all related personnel matters
  • End of month balance
  • Pension contributions
  • Ensure all necessary deductions are aligned with HMRC Guidelines
  • Report payroll information to clients and advise of any payments to HMRC
Knowledge & Experience Required
  • Must be experienced in performing payroll functions
  • Understanding of good practice in administering a payroll scheme for multiple employers
  • Dealing with payroll queries
  • General office administration
  • General HR experience
Essential skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Sage experience or similar software
  • Extremely organised and motivated
  • Able to manage your own time effectively and schedule/prioritise workloads
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
  • IT literacy including confidence to work with data management systems using Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
