Job Description

Do you want to use your engineering degree into salesJoin a leading Global privately own business, Teconnex has sites in the UK, Europe, India, Mexico and China.This is a newly created development role suitable for a graduate engineer, ideally with 1 or 2 years work experience within either a commercial or engineering environment.Full training to develop your sales skills will be provided. Whilst the role will initially be office based, the position offers the right individual a clear career path to become an external Business Development Manager.The role

  • Responsible for completing desk-based research to identify new target customers and business.
  • Making initial contact with both existing contacts and new potential customers.
  • Working with the internal teams to compile technical and commercial quotation documents.
  • Making presentations to prospective customers both face to face and via other media channels.
  • Following up on quoted enquiries to assist in forecasting and understanding how well we are positioned within any specific project / enquiry.
  • Developing your commercial understanding of the sales process and refining your sales skills.
  • Learning negotiation of pricing, payment terms, surcharge, long term supply agreements and non-disclosure agreements
  • Identifying revenue/sales opportunities to maximise business growth

  • The Person
  • You will have a drive and ambition to develop your sales skills and the inner confidence to regularly present our products and company to our customers.
  • You will have a recognised Engineering qualification and a sound understanding of engineering principals.
  • Although this role requires a technical background the majority of time will be focused on selling and commercial elements of a project
  • You will be articulate, entrepreneurial, numerate, and literate, as well as being familiar with standard Microsoft office packages.
  • You will enjoy working in a demanding and often pressurised environment and able to think on your feet.
