Job Description

A great opportunity is available for a Design Engineer to join a growing manufacturing company based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.The CompanyNSF Controls has a long and storied history tracing back to its roots in the 1930s! The company holds global manufacturing and distribution relationships, exporting to 30 countries across 5 continents, with an expanding product range focusing on driving forward technological break-throughs. They are thelargest supplier of solenoids and switches in Europe and a specialist in electro-mechanical assembly services. Their vast standard range of products arerecognised fortheir superior quality and reliability with over a million assemblies built per year. Their mission is to uphold their established reputation for high quality products with first class customer interaction.The RoleAs a Design Engineer your objective will be to work alongside another Design Engineer and a Production Engineer, supporting the Senior Engineer and Technical Director. This role is principally engineering based. The main activities are supporting production, and the design and development of new products. In addition, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:• Assist manufacturing in problem solving activities, design of tooling and fixtures for piece parts manufacture and assembly• Production and maintenance of working drawings using current CAD systems• Organise manufacturing samples with both production and toolroom personnel• Enter accurate production routings and other relevant information concerning product manufacture onto the business database• Prepare manufacturing costings and advising on sales quotations• Maintain project documentation in accordance with relevant ISO 9001 procedures• Assist in the preparation of work instructions and documentation• Provide technical support to commercial staff as required• Customer and supplier visits as required • Field external calls to the company in a professional and efficient manner using the company business control system as required• Keep a clean and safe working environment and be responsible for your actions to ensure you do not endanger yourself or othersThe CandidateTo be considered for the Design Engineer position you must have 3 years experience in a similar role. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:• Have good knowledge of electro-mechanical design skills• Able to use the AutoCAD system and Inventor• Experience in design for plastic injection moulded components as well as pressed components a distinct advantage• Good communication skills• Able to work well with others in the team and independently when required• Familiarity with NSF’s product ranges (advantageous)• Must have a full clean driving licence• A level of commercial awarenessAdditional InformationAlongside a generous salary the Design Engineer will benefit from thorough product training.
