Job Description

Senior Accountant Manager/ Accountant, Skipton area, £40,000-£55,000Due to growth an established chartered accountancy practice in the Skipton area is recruiting for a Senior Accountant Manager or a QBE AccountantThe successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to Partnerships and Limited Companies as well as managing a small team (3 reports).Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records
  • Company and personal tax return preparation
  • Liaising with clients on all accounting matters
  • VAT return / Bookkeeping assistance where required during busy periods
  • Reviewing work of other employees
  • New client setup
  • Attending client meetings occasionally
  • Other ad-hoc projects as they arise
Skills Required :
  • ACA or ACCA qualified prefered or QBE
  • Experience working within a UK based qualified accountancy firm
  • Excellent working knowledge of Accounts Preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies and Partnerships.
  • Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential
  • Driving licence would be desirable
Offices are accessible from Bradford, Colne, Skipon, Keighley, IlkleyThey offer parking on site, hybrid working (2 days WFH), modern offices
